This course is designed to film young people who have experience in dance. It features dancers in a 10-week dance & film-training project. It provides an opportunity to develop the film concept, explore different expressions of dance and develop dance scenes that leads to involvement in a short film. The short film will feature different styles of street dance and involve young people from the local community.

Throughout the process, positive efforts are made to make participants aware of the related career opportunities associated with filming and the wider creative arts sector.

Session 1

Introduction to the basic principles of contemporary and street dance techniques. Participants will experience and develop skills such as alignment, articulation of the body, and shifting of weight.

Session 2 - 3

Principles of contemporary dance techniques. Participants will experience and develop skills such as alignment, articulation of the body, and shifting of weight. Dance choreography, practice routines

Session 4 - 7

Develop creative skills through dance routines, games and workshops. Develop skills in balance, posture and alignment, through simple movement phrases.

Session 8

Introduction to Filming & Editing

Session 9 - 12

Dance and film assignment tasks - Filming Dance routines & and Editing pieces.
